Onafhankelijk bottelaar Douglas Laing is het Schotse familiebedrijf achter de Remarkable Regional Malts en viert het 10-jarige bestaan van hun Islay Malt met een heerlijke gedenkwaardige 10 jaar oude limited edition van Big Peat.

Glenfiddich Fire & Cane is een bijzondere whisky waarin stevige, rokerige toetsen aangevuld worden door lagen aan zoetigheden. Deze whisky behoort toe aan de Experimental Series, waar ook de IPA, XX en Winter Storm onderdeel van zijn. Voor de productie van deze whisky wordt geturfde whisky samengevoegd met whisky die gerijpt is op ex-bourbonvaten, waarna dit een gezamenlijke finish ondergaat op vaten die voorheen rum bevatten. Neus: zachte turf, rook, toffee, kruiden, fruit en een bittertje. Smaak: turf, eiken, toffee, appel zachte rook.

Nose: quite a few classic markers, like leafy notes, green tobacco, hummus and plenty of roasted nuts. Some earthy notes and pumpernickel. Plain malt. Herbal tea. A specific style of sherry, fairly thin with hardly any fruits.

A Sweet and fruity nose teases indulgent notes of orange blossom, honeycomb, ripe bananas, rich toffee, caramel wafers, and butterscotch. On the palate there's Stroopwafel, sultana cake and orange peel, with darker things including sweet liquorice, cacao nibs, brambles, and charred twigs underneath.

Neus: Iets “stoffige” geuren (warehouse). Een combinatie van bloemen, kersen, bessen, eikenhout, sinaasappellikeur, pure chocolade en een snufje munt Smaak:  sinaasappel, het eikenhout , chocolade en vooral de witte kruiden de boventoon voeren.
