Kleur: amber. Neus: zoetig, aardbeien kauwgom, caramel, butterscotch en tonen van bladgroente, bloemig en walnoten. Smaak: in aanvang iets ziltig, (Campbeltown of Skye ??), mooie zoet-droge balans, iets graan en tonen van mout, caramel en fruit snoepjes met een aangename en volle afdronk.

An Oa is vernoemd naar de Mull of Oa in het zuidwesten van Islay, die de Kildaton kust (waar Ardbeg de distilleerderij is gelegen) wat bescherming biedt tegen het geweld van de de Atlantische Oceaan.

De Elements of Islay Peat & Sherry Exclusive to the Netherlands is een speciale Elements of Islay release voor Nederland. De welbekende Islay blended malt Peat gerijpt in sherry vaten en gebotteld op vatsterkte (cask strength) van 56,2% in een 50cl apothekersfles als small batch release.

Een unieke Scotch met een bijzonder verhaal. Deze whisky is per ongeluk ontstaan op een eiland met een rijke geschiedenis, verbonden aan de Clan MacLean. Een combinatie van een 18-jarige island malt (geen Islay) en een vleugje 3-jarige graanwhisky (minder dan 0,1%) heeft geleid tot deze onverwachte creatie.
